Exercise and typhoon!

I left off Saturday night when Dan was at work... he got home around 1 am and told me that they changed his shift from 6pm-6am to 12pm-12am. Another lesson on not getting your hopes set on one thing because its bound to change! So after sleeping, he had to go back in on Sunday around 11:30. Apparently they were still prepping for the Exercise that day and it hadn't actually started yet, so they finished everything there was to do and he was sent home around 6:30! That was a great surprise! So we were able to have a little time together Sunday night.

Then, for the rest of the week, he would leave for work at 11:15 am and get home around 12:20 am. Pretty long days!

There really isn't much to say about what I've been up to.

8.20*Monday morning, I joined a few other spouses and we put together sack lunches for all the AMMO people. I think we made over 200 pb&j sandwiches! I even saw a rainbow on my way there.

*Our house is probably the cleanest it has ever been since we moved in!

*I've probably watched more tv shows on Hulu+ this week than ever before. Korean dramas. Gotta love them! Sophie does!

*I don't feel the need to cook much for just myself so no cool food pics to put up!

*I've been reminded of how much I love having my husband around and am not looking forward to him going back to the States for training sometime in the future...

*I caved and let the kitties snuggle in our bed until Dan got home.

*My college roommate got engaged this week!!! So happy for her!!

*Just like college, it is still really exciting receiving gifts in the mail!

8.23*Thursday night, I went to a social event for Kadena Officers' Spouses! I joined a Lunch Bunch group and a Bunko group. So that should be a good way for me to meet some more people and get out of the house!

8.24*Friday morning, I was able to chat with some girls from Cedarville which was awesome!! And I also had lunch with one of the girls from our small group. I love getting out of the house! Then, I hit up the commissary to buy a few things before the typhoon hits. You know, oreos and butterfingers---only what is necessary to survive! The Exercise ended around 4pm and the group started prepping for the Typhoon. Dan actually got called into work at 9am that day, so it was nice that he was home around 7pm instead of midnight! We were able to go to the BX and buy a big flashlight, electronics charger, and batteries so we are ready for this massive typhoon that is about to hit. We ended with a late dinner at Chili's Too. :) Great night with my hubby, and it was great to finally have him back!

See that bright light in the middle of the picture? Yep, that's us as of Friday night!

8.25*Saturday, we just prepped for the typhoon and relaxed. After lunch, we ran out to the local Japanese mall to buy the final cord for our speakers. And thankfully, it works! We also found a battery operated radio in case the power goes out and we can't get updates. I was also able to find some heels for the AF ball. And the only reason I mention this is because I wanted to show this picture.
The bag was laying on the table and she crawled into it with my shoes! What a crazy cat.

That night, we started working on a 1000 piece puzzle of the US! We also decorated our Typhoon cake and our 1 year anniversary cake. We ended with a fun Skype call with our baby nephew, Katie, and Nate. I'd say we got quite a bit accomplished. :)

Although we were a couple days early (because we weren't sure if the power would go out), we had to do the traditional eating of the wedding cake on our 1 year. Except it wasn't nearly as good as our original wedding cake, but that definitely wouldn't have made it here with us!

8.26* Sunday, we were under TCCOR 1-Caution which is where everything on base shuts down, so we just enjoyed the day at home together. Sometimes its just nice to have a day where we can't go anywhere and are forced to relax! We made good progress on our puzzle, played some Kinect sports, and watched a movie. Now it is almost 6pm on Sunday, and the weather still isn't that bad. Just a little wind and some sprinkling every now and then. I guess my next update will tell you if the typhoon ever did hit!
