Can you believe Christmas is a week away?? I cannot believe how fast the past few months have gone since I started teaching. I'm loving my job and the kids this year! I am so blessed to have a job over here and don't know what I'd do without it!
Going back to where I left off in September, Dan had another training for a few weeks in Texas just after I started school. It went by pretty fast though this time. I'll just let the pictures tell you! Sorry it is in a somewhat scatterbrained order.

Only in Japan....?
Several classes from our school were able take a walking field trip to see Elmo and friends- Deployment version. I loved that we were able to go! It was at the theater on our base.
Fire Department came to school for Fire Safety Week! Other highlights in October were carving pumpkins, the Storybook Parade and our Halloween party!
The kids came to school in their costumes on Halloween. My little Ironman playing candy corn bingo. :)
Pin the stem on the pumpkin!
Making trail mix
My para and I were Elephant and Piggie from my favorite series by Mo Willems!
Now... a little bit of life outside of school! |
 |
| A lovely baby shower for a wonderful couple from church! |
 |
| They do fireworks for so many things here- this was a sweet potato festival! |
 |
| Dan's birthday :) |
 |
| The only seafood I can handle- fried shrimp! |
 |
Dan won an award for his squadron.
--November-- |
 |
| We took a little day trip up north to the aquarium again. Dan hadn't been back since we first arrived a year and a half ago! |
 |
| We've seen this barrel restaurant before but just got around to trying it with our small group! Loved the atmosphere. |

Thanksgiving!
 |
| Happy one minute.. |
 |
| Guess I offended her! |
 |
Love our family photo! A little blurry from our connection, but I loved facetiming for the holiday!
 |
| We finally found the Toys 'R Us! |
School in November flew by since we had so many days off with Veteran's day, a teacher work day at the end of first quarter, parent teacher conferences, and Thanksgiving! I was pretty nervous about conferences for my first time, but they all went so well and the parents seemed to be pleased!

Love how our star wreaths turned out!

The PTO had a Hoedown fundraiser. The kids practiced the dances in p.e. and music and performed that night! So cute :)

Thanksgiving time! I love how their turkeys turned out! And then for a special snack, one of the kid's moms made these awesome turkeys! Yes- we save those to the very end of the day to eat!

--December--
Dan left for another training right after Thanksgiving-- this time in California. So since he left, I've done a few things with another kinder teacher from my school. We went to the Broadway Holiday Showcase. Loved the show- no matter how cheesy!
The NYC Kickettes...Rockettes?
Our Christmas tree without the base...in our bedroom. The only way to guarantee the cats won't eat it or climb in it.
Our spouses social for Dan's squadron had a cookie decorating party this month. All the cookies go to the guys who live in the dorms here on base. I think our squadron had to make 65 dozen or so! Mission accomplished. We also had a little gift exchange and I got a nice pitcher and some wine glasses.
The Marine Band! Such a great holiday concert!
Time for our school Christmas party!
This guy did an awesome show throwing bottles on fire through the air and other cool things with drinks. Fun times!
Christmas song game :) I thought I knew my songs...but I guess its only when they are playing and I can hear the words!
My gifts from Dirty Santa!
My first cookie exchange party. We each brought 10 bags of a couple cookies and were able to take a bag from everyone else so we ended up with 10 different kinds of cookies!
December in the classroom has been so busy! We've been studying elves, gingerbread, reindeer, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, and we will do Holidays Around the World on Friday!
My class full of elves!
Reindeer craft- took forever because they all wanted to add so much glitter!
Every day for the last two weeks of school that the kids have been on a good color on the behavior chart, they've gotten a gift in their "stocking" that they decorated. They get to open them in school on Friday! So fun.

Love love love my bulletin board! It always looks the best when I let others take over :)
The kids had fun decorating their own gingerbread cookies after we studied all the different versions of the Gingerbread Boy story. Run run as fast as you can!
So those were the highlights from the past two months. I've been fairly busy since Dan left this time with all the holiday events and parties. Only 2 more days of school before WINTER BREAK! I'm so ready to be in Syracuse with Dan and his family and then on to see my family and meet my baby niece!! Merry Christmas everybody! |
