Symptoms:
It was actually a pretty good week from what I remember (pregnancy brain!). My back wasn't as stiff as it had been, I didn't have any heartburn, and the gall bladder pain I was having was rarely felt. Yay!
Approximate countdown:
9 weeks to go!! Two months and counting!
Last Friday morning the 5th, Dan had his phone interview for the Baylor Physical Therapy program. It went pretty well! They chatted for about 50 minutes. It was great that he could clarify a few things that don't look good on paper, and bring up some stories that he couldn't fit in his 250 word essay. I'm pretty confident in his overall package but who knows what will happen! We will find out in January if he gets in or not. This will determine whether or not we stay in the Air Force or separate in 2 years. That afternoon, we went to the birth registration class at the hospital to learn about all the paperwork involved for getting Emma's birth certificate, passport, and social security. It was informative since we have never been through this before. Then, I got the flu shot and the TDAP shot when Dan went back to work. I had to take the afternoon off to take care of this stuff (which was fine with me because my class was crazy that morning!). That night, we went on a date to Tony Roma's to celebrate his phone interview!
Saturday night the 6th, we went to Tinsel Town on base and got to see Colbie Caillat perform! It was a nice family friendly, calm concert. If you know her style, you know how her concerts would be. She was very calm when she talked and sang just like her album. We enjoyed it!
Sunday, the 7th, we went out to Cape Zanpa in search for a good location for our maternity pictures. It was way too windy but still a great view. Then, we found some nearby castle ruins that we are going to use. We even caught a gorgeous sunset!
Tuesday, a lady came to meet Bella because we had posted an ad on our local "Craigslist" to rehome the cats. I've had concerns for quite a while with Bella with her habit of chewing on fabric things. I found out the next day that she was interested in adopting Bella, and we transferred ownership on Thursday at the vet clinic. Wow that happened fast! It was definitely sad since we've had her since we moved to Okinawa, but it will be for the best in the long run. We hope she is enjoying her new home! Sophie seems to miss her and wants to be around us all the time now. We'll see what happens with her over the next few weeks. Dan wasn't quite ready to part with her, so I took the ad down for now.
That night the 10th, we went to the gym to see the Harlem Globetrotters! I saw them when I was a kid and thought it was the coolest thing. I guess as an adult, it isn't quite as neat. I didn't realize they had microphones and did more of a talking show than a basketball acrobatic show. I was expecting lots of flips and dunks, but that didn't happen too much. Still, it was a great free experience! I love that they bring these events to our base all the way out here in Okinawa. Here are some pictures from their Facebook Page from that night.
Overall, it was a busy, fun week!
