36 weeks- 1st baby shower!

January 15, 2015

How far along?
36 weeks

Total weight gain:
+25.9 lbs total

Measurements:
Added 8.5 inches to my waist and 5.5 inches to my hips

Maternity clothes?
All the time! At night, I wear Dan's old pajama pants and Cedarville t-shirt. Loose comfy night clothes.

Sleep:
I'm still sleeping well once I fall asleep. It has been harder to get comfortable in bed and I wake up with a stiff back in the mornings. I'll sleep well until Sophie scratches at the door or I have to go to the bathroom on some nights. Nothing consistent though. I don't think I took any naps this week either.

Best moment this week:
School baby shower and Jam's steakhouse

Miss Anything?
Being able to wash the dishes without bumping my belly or straining my back! Man that's getting difficult.

Movement:
I love feeling her move all the time! That never gets old. I can't help but put my hand on my belly where she is kicking so I can track where she is going. She still had hiccups a few times a week that I remember. Now I can feel stronger movements super low around my pubic bone area. It kind of amazes me because I don't see how she has any space down there!

Food cravings:
This week I wasn't craving sweets as much as salty in the afternoons. I still like to end the night with cereal. I also discovered the Burger King Oreo Shake and had to have that a couple times.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope

Gender
Girl- Emma Grace will be her name.

Amazon Registry:

Symptoms:
I am still having a hard time breathing sometimes when she is crowding my lungs. My feet (and me) are exhausted by the end of the night so I've had to sit a lot more. It has also been hard to eat a lot at a time even when I still feel hungry. Also, my belly button is sticking out enough for other people to comment on it. It is mostly still on the top while the bottom half is just flat.

Labor signs:
Nothing yet- I thought I was having a Braxton Hicks contraction this week but I think it was more Emma in an odd position that was putting a weird pressure on me.

Approximate countdown:
4 weeks to go!!

Last Friday, another kindergarten teacher hosted a baby shower for me and baby Emma. It turned out so well! I loved the decorations, the food, the games, and the gifts! It is SO fun opening presents for your baby.

My host, Heather!

Saturday we went to Jam's Steakhouse with another couple. It was a really cool environment for a teppanyaki place but I wasn't too impressed with the food compared to other places we have tried. I am picky though so I didn't enjoy the tofu or mushrooms. This was the first time a bib has ever been placed on me for a meal! After we ate, they brought us to a different room for coffee/tea. It was nice to be away from the table and to be able to relax and not feel rushed out of there.

There was so much random stuff to look at in the after dinner room...including Gollum.
Ok, can you say you've been in a bathroom with a fish tank??

Sophie enjoyed playing with the tissue paper from my baby shower. We thought it was pretty cute. We also received our boppy pillow and cover in the mail from a friend who used to live here. So exciting!!! A friend from college sent us an adorable outfit and some newborn sleepers from our registry. It was so sweet and thoughtful of them!

That's all I can think of this week! Hopefully only 3 or 4 more posts before we do the announcement post! This girl is getting excited. Here is a look from the beginning to now!
