38 weeks + nursery tour

1/29/15
How far along?
38 weeks

Total weight gain:
+27.5 lbs total

Measurements:
Added 9 inches to my waist and 6.5 inches to my hips

Maternity clothes?
Couldn't live without them!

Sleep:
Still sleeping great!

Best moment this week:
Nothing really this week

Miss Anything?
Being skinny

Movement:
I never expected to see my belly move so much when Emma moves. Dan can see it from across the room too! It isn't really her kicking most of the time- just moving around and adjusting. Sometimes her foot or something will slide all the way down my side and tickle me.

Food cravings:
More salty than sweet. I haven't really wanted meals this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope

Gender
Girl- Emma Grace will be her name.

Amazon Registry:

Symptoms:
When I get in bed, the top of my uterus starts to itch like crazy like something is irritating it. But it is only right when I am going to sleep! I also had some heartburn, some back pain/cramping, and very tired feet as usual.

Labor signs:
I don't think she has "dropped" but my belly sure does hang on my legs when I am sitting down. I also had this achy lower back cramp going on Tuesday afternoon for just a minute or two and then it was gone-I started to get all excited thinking it was a contraction! But who knows. Please tell me if you do! It never came back after that.

Approximate countdown:
2 weeks to go!!

Friday, I was SO thankful it was a teacher work day and didn't have to teach because my body was so achy and exhausted from my cold. I also was able to use the time to finish report cards, prepare for my last 2 weeks of work, and write rough draft lesson plans for all of maternity leave!! I'd say that was quite the successful work day. I decided that February 6th will be my last day of work. I was going to try and hold out until February 17th but after feeling so tired this week, I don't think I can make it another 3 weeks. I just do not want to be at school and I feel terrible saying that. I'd rather a sub be in there teaching well than me be a cranky butt! When I got home, I took a 2 hour nap in bed until Dan got home. Then, we just relaxed that night because I didn't feel much like doing anything.

Saturday morning, we both woke up sick. Dan said around 3 am he was hit with an upset stomach and then all day he pretty much laid in bed with the stomach bug. I still felt a little crummy but thankfully my achy body wasn't achy anymore, so I was able to go out and get some soup, Sprite, and get 2 packages from the post office. FINALLY, our pack and play had arrived! It took 7 weeks to get here. :/ We also received our wipes and wipes warmer from some friends who used to live here.

Sunday, we were both still feeling a bit crummy so we stayed in again. Dan finally had enough energy to set up the pack and play and do a bit of rearranging in our room. I love how close she is to me, and the changer will be nice in the middle of the night so I don't have to go in the nursery. At least that is the plan- we will see how it works out once she gets here. Aside from that, we relaxed, did some more cleaning, and finished the nursery. It is ready to go! I also made some little gift bags for our nurses with some goodies. I saw it on Pinterest and thought it was a great idea.

Finally, here is an updated look at our nursery!

The seat on the left actually goes on the swing but we are just keeping it upstairs until she arrives.

Lots of friends from Nona, Dan's mom!

Happy 38 weeks!
