Adventure Awaits: 2 months already?

Emma is 2 months old now! She has gained almost 3 pounds since birth and has grown about 2 inches! I couldn't believe she was 9 lbs 6.5 oz at her 2 month appointment. I thought she was only 7 or 8 lbs still! She is at an awkward stage right now where newborn clothes are starting to get tight but the 0-3 shirts are all still too baggy. They need to make an in between stage!

It's been so fun watching her personality come out this month. She now smiles on a daily basis and maintains great eye contact! She will even stare at the little bear mobile on her swing and make faces at it and smile. It's too cute! Last month, we couldn't put her down without crying, but that isn't the case anymore! She will take a pacifier now which has made quite the difference. It soothes her well but she doesn't need it all the time.

Tummy time is still going well but she has to be in the right mood for it to last very long, so it is pretty short. She lifts her head up pretty far and will keep it there for a little bit. She mostly likes to kick her legs while on her belly.

Emma had a big change this month by starting school. She goes to the Child Development Center on base just down the street from my school which is SO amazingly convenient. She is eating 3 ounces every 2 hours so Mama has to do quite a bit of pumping to keep up with that. Unfortunately our freezer stash is starting to go down, so we may have to supplement with formula by the end of the month.

She is a GREAT night sleeper! For the past few weeks, she will sleep between 6-8 hours every night. I will feed her right before bed and I end up having to wake her at 6:30 to feed her before school! There have been a few nights when she woke up between 4-5, but not too many thankfully. It's so nice to not have that 3 am feeding anymore. She will also fall asleep more on her own now too whether in the swing or swaddled in her bassinet. The CDC definitely wears her out because she doesn't take very long naps while she's there. By evening time, she's so sleepy.

Dan took the day off so I could go into work for a test day away from my baby girl. He did a great job with her, and I was sooo happy to get home to them!!

Now for some 2 month photo shoot fun...last month she cried through them all and this time there wasn't a single squeak! What a difference a month makes.
