Ava's 2nd Month

Another month has come and gone! At Ava's 2 month appointment, she weighed 9 lbs 8 oz (wow!!) and was just over 22 inches long. She is still wearing newborn clothes and size 1 diapers. We are just about ready to move up a size though as her pants are getting a little snug! Here are some highlights from the month. The biggest change was that she started sleeping really long stretches at 5 weeks! Since then, she really is all over the place but it is always at least 4 hours and even up to 10 one night! What a champ!

4-5 weeks
-weekend trip to Waco

5-6 weeks
-started smirking
-slept 6h 45m, 7h, 6h 55m, 7h 15m, 7 h, and 8h 40m
-some acne developed
-not painful to breastfeed and not too sore anymore
-park playdate, Glo golf outing, and outside picnic!

6-7 weeks
-slept 6.5, 7.5, 5 then 4s again  > not consistent anymore
-dedicated at First Baptist Church of Universal City on Mother's Day
-will take binky now whereas before she wasn't interested
-interested in people / eye contact when you get up close
-explored the park down the street

She now has a spot on the wall! Love my big canvas wall!

Dedication at First Baptist Church in Universal City

7-8 weeks
-fussy and only feeding will calm her quickly. Falls asleep eating after a little bit and then wakes herself up and is fussy again. Some sort of sleep regression. Have to work harder to get her to sleep.
-possible little laugh!!
-no consistent night sleeping could be 3 4 or 5 hour stretches until the end of her 7th week then we got 7-8
-went down to the Riverwalk for the first time for a river parade (Armed Forces)
-went to Emma's dance recital

8-9 weeks  > 2 months!
-sleeping well again even doing 9-10 hours right before she turned 2 months!
-smiles and tracks me when I move my head around and she’s focused
-happy baby and did well with Nona all day while I packed up my classroom

Glad to have some help around here with the girls! We asked Nona to come down while I packed up my classroom and moved it all home. Dan took the day off to help and Emma was already out of school. Couldn't have done it without Nona! While Nona was here, we put an offer on a house and it was accepted!! We had been house hunting for months to find a place in Ohio to have lined up ready for us when we move but this was the 5th attempt! The market there is insane. Houses are gone in days or even the same day. After being denied so many times, we knew exactly what we needed and what we were willing to offer (closing costs/ etc). FINALLY a military family accepted our offer and we will close June 29th. Exciting stuff! Dan will be 10 minutes from the medical center and we will be 15 from my sister. My family already checked out the house for us and said it looks nice. Can't wait to move in if it all goes through at the end of the month!

That's it for this month! We love Ava so much and her personality fits so well into our family. She's our calm one for sure!
