27 weeks

November 13, 2014
How far along?
27 weeks

Total weight gain:
+14.4 lbs total

Measurements:
Added 5.5 inches to my waist and 4 inches to my hips

Maternity clothes?
I pretty much wear my maternity pants every day now. I can still wear some of my old jeans unbuttoned or by using the hair tie trick.  I'm also excited about my Thanksgiving and Christmas maternity shirts that I bought. You'll see that in 2 weeks!

Sleep:
I sleep through the whole night and I'm sleeping pretty well.

Best moment this week:
It felt good to tell the parents of my students this week about my pregnancy!

Miss Anything?
Not this week

Movement:
Lots of movement! I can now feel her when she's moving around but not necessarily kicking. And still lots of kicks at night when we are sitting and watching tv. Dan apparently can hear Emma moving around when he puts his ear on my belly. He said it sounds like a thump when she's kicking and like a swishing noise if she brushes against me. I wish I could hear it! I read that husbands can sometimes hear a heartbeat so that's what we were going for but no luck there.

Food cravings:
Fruit snacks

Anything making you queasy or sick:
No

Gender
Girl- Emma Grace will be her name. :D

Amazon Registry:

Symptoms:
Heartburn, backache

Approximate countdown:
13 weeks to go!!

We finally got our wall decals in for the nursery this week! I loved putting them up...the nursery is looking so good now! We also found some curtains off base that really add some nice color to the room. Thursday, our bedding set came in too so I'll spend the weekend putting all that stuff out. I love it!! We also received an early Christmas present of some baby stuff from Dan's sister, our stroller, car seat base, and my maternity shirts. It was an exciting week at the post office!

Friday night, we went out to dinner with some friends at Chili's Too. Its nice to not hate the place anymore after the whole summer of not being able to even think about it.

On Saturday, November 8th, Dan spent the day at the Kadena Special Olympics. It was a bit rainy and gloomy at first but then the sun came out just enough to give him a nice sunburn. The event went really well! He had spent the past few months on an executive planning team for the event, so his hard work paid off.

Tuesday, we both had the day off for Veteran's Day which was nice! I enjoyed teaching for a day, taking a day off, going back for a day, and then having Thursday and Friday as conference days. It was a nice short week although the kids were so hyper on Wednesday that it felt like a Friday!

This is my last post for second trimester! I can't believe that I'm 2/3 of the way done. Only 3 more short months before she's here! I would say that second trimester treated me quite nicely. No more morning sickness, not a lot of pain or discomfort as a whole- just some backaches and heartburn were my main symptoms this trimester. We'll see what third trimester brings!
