My new OB appointment next week so they can tell me that everything is going well
Yesterday I had my prenatal class at the clinic, but it was pretty boring. They didn't really tell me anything I hadn't heard yet. They gave us a DVD and a little pregnancy book and it only lasted about 45 minutes.
July 19th, Dan took my car to get the JCI which is an inspection due on our cars every two years. When we bought the cars, the dealership did it for us, so this was our first time having to do it. Dan took his car to a place that did everything for him for a lot higher price, so we decided to do mine on our own. I went in on Friday to get the JCI insurance from our insurance company, and then Dan took my car to another base to do the actual inspection for me. He didn't have to wait at all to get it done which was great! But they told him I had one minor issue to be fixed. He took it to the little auto place on base and I went to meet him there so he didn't have to sit in the waiting room alone for hours. We went to a coffee shop, the BX, and the furniture store and they still hadn't called. I was sick of waiting, so we decided to go back and see what was going on. Of course, it was sitting outside, finished! Would have been nice to get a call...the inspection hours only went to 3:30 so we missed the cutoff to get it reinspected that day so we went home. I had a meatloaf in the crockpot all day that didn't turn out so well. I think that may have been my first meatloaf too! hah. But the roasted lemon asparagus was delicious! I just didn't realize I was supposed to cut the ends off before I cooked them- whoops! That night, we went over to a friends house for some ice cream and brownies and were able to show them our ultrasound picture!
July 20th, we went to a Pizzakaya Lantern Lighting event with another couple. In our 2 years here, I've never heard of it so I was excited to see what it was all about. I was picturing the scene from Tangled when all the beautiful lanterns light up at the same time and float up into the night sky. Well, that was completely wrong! Our huge lantern took forever to light up and while the guys were trying to light it, other lanterns would start to fly over our heads but crash and burn. Literally. There was one 2 feet from me that burned out on the ground! It was so dangerous and I was afraid one would hit my back and catch me on fire! Thankfully, I don't think anyone was burned and ours finally made it up into the sky!
July 21st, I went back to get my car reinspected but it was a Japanese Holiday, so it was closed. I went back the next day around 10:15 and the line was SUPER long. I sat there until 11:30 and finally was the next car in line when they closed for their hour lunch break. I was so frustrated! Leave it to the hormonal pregnant lady to tear up in her car. haha. Dan was nice enough to come meet me and get some lunch while we waited. Then he drove it through the inspection bay area and we passed! We just had to update my registration and get the sticker and we were good to go for another two years. I was happy that we didn't have any major issues because we've heard horror stories of people spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on this inspection to get things fixed. It's just one thing we won't have to worry about again hopefully!
That pretty much sums up my 11th week of pregnancy! I can't believe I'm getting so close to the second trimester. We did go out and take some announcement pictures so we are getting closer to that! Here is a little preview.
